Gifts for Valentine’s Day at Brilliant Wall Art

Valentine’s Day 2019 is a time when people show their feelings of love, affection and friendship. It is celebrated in many ways worldwide and falls on 14th February each year.

While Valentine's Day is celebrated in most countries, different cultures have developed their own traditions for this festival. In some parts of the world Valentine's Day is observed as a day for expressing love between family members and friends, rather than that of romantic couples.

However, Valentine's Day is most commonly associated with romantic love, with millions of Valentine's Day cards being exchanged each year. Gifts of flowers or a single red rose are sent with romantic messages to loved ones and couples spend special time together. There are Valentines gifts for men and Valentines gifts for women, but what is the Valentine surprise for the one you love?

Valentine's Day is named after a Catholic priest who lived in Rome in the 3rd Century. There are many stories about St Valentine and over time these stories grew into the legend we know today.

At the time of Valentine's life, many Romans were converting to Christianity, but the Emperor Claudius II was a pagan and created strict laws about what Christians were allowed to do. Claudius believed that Roman soldiers should be completely devoted to Rome and therefore passed a law preventing them from marrying. St Valentine began to marry these soldiers in secret Christian ceremonies and this was the beginning of his reputation for believing in the importance of love.

Eventually, Valentine was found out and jailed for his crimes against Claudius. While imprisoned, Valentine cared for his fellow prisoners and his jailor's blind daughter. Legend has it that Valentine cured the girl's blindness and that his final act before being executed was to write her a love message signed ‘from your Valentine'. Valentine was executed on 14th February in the year 269 AD.

Have you decided upon a Valentine’s gift for the great love in your life?

Will it be as expensive as this one that David Beckham gifted Victoria?

In 2006, David Beckham purchased an $8 million (over £6 million) Bulgari diamond necklace for his wife, V, for Valentine's Day, according to E! News. Victoria flaunted this lavish item of jewellery, which was embellished with shiny rubies and diamonds, at the 2006 Met Gala. The Met Gala formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.

Not many people have the obscene wealth of the Beckhams, but the Valentines gifts at Brilliant Wall Art are of superb quality and far more affordable.

Brilliant Wall Art has many gift ideas including hanging hearts, heart wall art, floor standing candelabra, table candelabra, heart sculpture, heart coat hook, heart wind spinner, heart fire screen etc.

My favourite is the Jewel heart love sign metal wall art, with twinkling acrylic gem style detail. The 'o' in love is a heart-shaped feature. It measures approximately 31cm (12") high x 65cm (25.5") wide and is easy to hang.

Why not visit Brilliant Wall Art at the Worcester City Centre market every Saturday? You will be able to view and examine the quality wall art and home & garden décor on display.
