Gosh, I can’t believe it, 2020 already...doesn’t time fly!
Is there anything special about 2020?
Quite a lot actually!
First of all, the numbers that makeup in this sequence, 2...0...2...0... themselves are curious. Seeing repetitive numbers like 2020 is a form of synchronicity.
Each century has had synchronistic numerology of this type i.e. 1919, 1818, 1717 etc. 1919, for example, was a year or recovery after the 2nd World War, rebuilding and realignment of countries worldwide. 1818 was also a period of recovery following the Napoleonic Wars. Thank goodness, we are not at a stage of social and economic recovery in 2020, in a similar way; unless one considers the banking crash and age of austerity that has impacted everyone over the past 10 years.
With reference to banks, there is important advice when writing this year’s date on cheques, documents etc. In 2020, we should write in its full format, e.g. 31/01/2020 and not as 31/01/20 because anyone can change it to 31/01/2000 or 31/01/2019 or similar. This problem will persist only this year. Therefore, the advice is to be cautious about this.
What other significance does 2020 have? Here are some quick facts:
- It is 100 years since women were awarded the vote, in 1920.
- It is Leap Year in 2020 i.e. an extra day on February 29th. Women can propose to their loved one on this day!
- Glastonbury celebrates 50 years this year.
- Major events this year...The Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Football Euro 2020.
- Britain will leave the European Union (Brexit Law passed on 31st January 2020).
- Japan is planning to build a robotic base on the moon, in 2020.
- 2020 is the start of a new decade.
