They are then fired within a kiln at between 720 and 840 degrees for around 24 hours. The result of these high temperatures causes the coloured glass powders to fuse with the glass background. The higher the temperature the more the artwork full fuses which gives a smooth silk-like finish. When the artwork is fired at a lower temperature it retains a stunning tactile nature.
